Simple Changes to Prevent Acid Reflux

Have you ever suffered from acid reflux symptoms or heartburn then you are probably looking for ways to prevent the discomfort and burning symptoms. With some simple changes you can prevent the heartburn attacks.

Eliminate foods and drinks you know trigger your symptoms of heartburn. Go on an acid reflux diet. Foods and drinks to avoid include: Fried foods, spicy foods, onions, citrus fruits, all alcoholic drinks and sodas or carbonated drinks.

Eat several small meals a day instead of three large meals. Eating smaller meals more frequently will reduce heartburn.

Heartburn symptoms may become worse after eating a meal. To prevent this avoid laying down after eating a meal. When you lay down flat after eating a meal, stomach acids are more likely to enter the esophagus which will result in uncomfortable heartburn.
